----VEGETA----
We
first meet Vegeta when he comes to Earth with Nappa to gather the dragonballs
for immortality. Vegeta betrays and kills Nappa because he was 'too weak'. He
teams up with the Z team reluctantly to defeat Frieza and becomes a good guy.
Sometime after that, he and Bulma marry and have two children, Trunks and Bra. I
wouldn't mess with this guy, he's brash and won't think twice about destroying a
planet in a blink.
----GOKU----
The easy-going hero of DBZ, Goku is good-natured man that always finds
the 'good' in people where others don't. However, his opponents always seem to
take advantage of that. (i.e. Giving Frieza some energy to live, letting Raditz
live because he claimed that he'd change) Goku has two sons, Gohan and Goten,
and a wife, Chi-chi. He was also the first to become super-saiyan and is the
strongest character. Goku is one of the three chars. to become super-saiyan
4.
----GOHAN----
Gohan
is the son of Goku who made his debut in Dragonball Z. His dream is to become a
great scholar (Well, his mother dreams for him). Gohan has the potential to
become more powerful than his father, but doesn't have the will to fight like
Goku. He's most powerful when he's mad. For instance, he nearly killed Frieza
when Frieza almost destroyed Krillin. Gohan's hero is Piccolo, he even dresses
like him on Namek. He grows up to be the Great Saiyamen, a superhero type
guy.
----TRUNKS----
Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma and is
Goten's best friend. He is a hybrid between a saiyan and a human, making him
very strong. He becomes a super-saiyan at an early age. He first appears when
Frieza comes to Earth after the Garlic Jr. saga. He comes from the future, and
much to the suprise of the Z team, quickly turns super-saiyan and defeats Frieza
and Frieza's father, King Cold. He tells of super-strong androids coming to
Earth to do about what every bad-guy does, DESTROY! Later, Bulma and Vegeta
marry and have two children, Trunks, and Trunks little sister, Bra.
----YAMCHA----
Yamcha
first appeared in the Dragon Ball series as a bandit who wanted the dragonballs
to wish for a girlfriend (Yeah, Puar tried to talk him out of it ;-). He,
instead, found himself teamed up with Goku. Bulma is his former girlfriend until
Vegeta came along. His faithful companion is Puar, a floating, shape-shifting,
cat. Like Tien and Chiautzu, he's not one of the major good guys.
--CHIAUTZU--
Ah,
Tien's humble little mime-like buddy. Chiautzu also knows ESP, but he is awfully
weaker than the others. We first see this in DBZ when he honorably grapples onto
Nappa's back and self-destructs, but is not strong enough to put a stratch on
him
---TIEN---
Tien, full
name Tienshinhan, has the ability to split into two or four Tiens. He's best
friends with Chaozu, has three eyes, and knows ESP. He hardly ever comes out of
a victorious battle alive. Poor guy....
--KRILLIN--
Krillin's
been best friends with Goku since the original Dragon Ball series. Although
outclassed by most fighters in the series, Krillin always seems to be in on the
major fights. He is known for being bald, and later wishes for hair. He marries
#18 and has a daughter named Marron.
--PICCOLO--
Piccolo
is the former arch-enemy of Goku in the previous series, Dragon Ball. Piccolo
teams up with Goku in Dragonball Z. He is actually Kami, years ago Kami split
himself into two people, good (Kami) and evil (Piccolo). Piccolo, however, is
not the real Piccolo. The first Piccolo was destroyed by Goku and co., but, just
before he died he spat out an egg (the Piccolo we know). Piccolo means in Namek
language 'another world'.
---GOTEN---
Goten's
the second son of Goku, Gohan's little brother, and Trunks' best friend. He
seems to resemble Goku in both personality and looks, he seems to like fighting
as much as Goku. Goten can fuse with Trunks to become Gotenks
-MASTER ROSHI-
Master
Roshi lives on an island in the middle of nowhere and enjoys hanging out with
his turtle friend and cheating on crossword puzzles.^_^ The only time we see him
fight is in the original Dragon Ball series. Master Roshi taught Goku the
Kamehameha beam.
--YAJIROBE--
Yajirobe
hardly ever fights. The only time he's useful is when he cut off Vegeta's tail
in the early episodes. Then he tried to slice Vegeta up when his back was
turned... Vegeta turned around and made him wish he never even thought about
that little idea. Yajirobe's pretty much the biggest coward in DBZ. All he ever
does is eat. Yajirobe wouldn't even go in the room of Spirit and Time with
Krillin, Tien, Chiautzu, and Yamcha. You'll usually find em' in Korin's place,
playing poker or eating.
---VEGETO--- 
Vegeto
is the fused form of Vegeta and Goku by use of special earrings. The fusion is
permanent. They only use it once (Majin Buu absorbed him, splitting him back
into two forms).
--GOGETA--
Gogeta is
the result of a fusion dance done by Goku and Vegeta. Although not as strong as
Vegeto, Gogeta is a very strong character and reaches SS4. Then he has red hair
instead of black (why, I don't know). Gogeta looks very much like Gotenks (same
outfit).
--FRIEZA--
Frieza is
the cocky bad guy that controls the Planet Trade and all saiyans. He has four
forms. After destroying Krillin, Vegeta, almost all the Nameks, and nearly
Piccolo, Goku becomes Super-Saiyan and 'kills' him. King Cold, his father,
rebuilds him. Frieza comes to Earth for his revenge, and seeing as Goku was in
space somewhere, it looked hopeless. Then Trunks came from the future and sliced
him up.
----CELL----
In my
opinion he's one of the strongest baddies. Cell is otherwise known as #21. His
main purpose was to destroy #17 and #18 because of #20's death at the hands of
them. Cell has three forms, the third otherwise known as Perfect Cell. He can
absorb anyone to become stronger. Cell can also rebuild himself with any part of
his body alive. He's finally destroyed by SS2 Gohan.
--BROLLI--
Brolli is
the legendary super-saiyan. He was born on the same day as Goku. Goku made him
cry and Brolli wants em' dead just for that. Brolli is finally destroyed by
Trunks and Goten. His father is Paragus.
-GINYU FORCE-
What a
bunch of idiots! These five fighters are supposedly the strongest team in the
universe. If they'd cut Guldo, Burter, Jeice, and Recoome and then add four more
Capt. Ginyus maybe they'd have a team... These guys have some pretty funny
hobbies though- eating chocolate nut bars, watching soap operas, and playing
rock-paper-scissors to see who will fight who. Capt. Ginyu has the awesome power
to switch bodies, though that power leads to his demise when he switches with a
frog thanks to Goku.
---#16---
#16 is the
first android Dr. G. ever made. He is also the strongest android Dr. Gero ever
made and is considered a 'malfunction' and was never meant to fight. After #16
was destroyed by Cell Gohan turned Super-Saiyan 2. He seems to respects nature.
#16 only fights when he has to, and Bulma reprograms him to fight against
Cell.
----#17----
#17 is
#18's twin brother, and, obviously, you can see the family resemblance. He is
one of the androids that makes an appearance after Frieza is destroyed by
Trunks. #17 reluctantly teams up with the Z team to fight Cell. After he is
absorbed by Cell, he later makes an appearance in Dragonball GT when he comes
back to life and fuses with a copy of himself to become Super #17, one of the
major villains of GT.
----#18----
Personally my favorite character. #18 is one of the many androids the Z
team has to face after Trunks comes from the future and destroys Frieza. She was
created by Dr. Gero and later she and #17 destroy him. She is absorbed by Cell,
and when SS2 Gohan destroys Cell, she is spat back out. #18 later becomes a good
guy, is wished to be human, marries Krillin, and together they have a daughter
named Marron.
---#19---
#19 and #20
are the first androids that make their appearance. #19 is a big white android
that was easily destroyed by Super-Saiyan Vegeta. He also has the ability to
suck ki balls through holes in his hands.
---#20---
#20,
otherwise known as Dr. Gero, created Cell, #16, #17, #18, and #19. He made an
android body for himself to become more powerful. #20, like #19, can absorb
energy balls. He is destroyed by #17.
--RADITZ--
Raditz is
Goku's big brother. Evil, like all saiyans, he came to Earth to destroy all life
on the planet. His fatal mistake was that he made Gohan mad... and... well, if
you know Gohan you know that's one kid you don't make mad. Gohan gives Raditz a
good blow that gave Goku time to stall him and let Piccolo give him a good Beam
Cannon that killed Raditz.
--KAMI--
Kami is the
Kami-Sama of Earth. Years ago, for the same position, he split himself into two
beings, one evil (Piccolo), and one good (Kami) to rid himself of evil. Kami can
fight, but hardly ever does. Usually when Garlic Jr. comes into the plot. He
fuses back together with Piccolo later (Somewhere in the Cell saga, I think) and
Dende takes his place as Kami-Sama of the Earth.
--DENDE--
Dende first
appears in the Frieza saga. He is saved from the evil tyrant by Gohan and
Krillin. He is very important in the battle with Frieza because of his ability
to heal. After Kami fused back together with Piccolo, Dende takes his place as
the Kami-Sama of Earth.
--GOTENKS--
Gotenks
is the fused form of Goten and Trunks by means of a fusion dance. He is one of
the few characters that reaches super-saiyan 3 and is pretty cool. He makes up
names for all his attacks (i.e. Super Ghost Kamikaze, Galactic Donut, etc.).
--BUU--
Okay, this
is confusing. Buu is a demon with very many forms (i.e. Fat Buu, Majin Buu,
etc.) that can absorb anyone. Once his victim is absorbed, they enter his body
(this causes Vegeto to 'unfuse'). Majin is a name that refers to his evil, and
you'll see the 'M' on his followers' forehead. The more followers he has, the
stronger he gets. Vegeta learned that he could become stronger by following him,
so you know what happens. He becomes 'Majin Vegeta' and SS2. Buu's other
followers include Dabura.
--BULMA--
Bulma has
been friends with Goku since Dragon Ball. Her former boyfriend is Yamcha, then
she meets and later marries Vegeta. They have two children, Trunks and Bra.
Saying that Bulma is a technical genius is a major understatement. As
FUNimation's Dragon Ball Z site says, 'She has a personality quirk that won't
allow her to shut up for a second'.
